Rain

Maravilhoso.

Rain were Frank Schallis (drums-percussion-acoustic guitar), Cobb Bussinger (keyboards-synthesizer), Michael Kennedy (lead guitar-vocals), and Ric Criniti (bass-vocals). One of the rarer releases on Enoch Light’s Project 3 label, it’s also one of the best!!! The album is a splendid mixture of progressive, rock and pop featuring all original material from the group’s songwriting duo of Frank Schallis and Cobb Bussinger. The album has recently been released on cd from Sunbeam Records.

“Soft psyche from Rain -- a warm and wonderful set originally issued on Project 3 Records at the start of the 70s! Like other work on the label, there's a nicely mellow feel to some of the cuts here -- not as all-out dreamy as Free Design, but definitely a different quality than you might have found, had Rain ended up recording for some of the bigger rock imprints of the period. Sweet-stepping electric basslines get most tracks moving, and they're topped by compressed guitar parts and a mix of organ, piano, and celeste used alternatingly to fit the differing moods of the tunes which including some nice vocal harmonies” (Dusty Groove)
